Hub Declaration

Saskatoon Climate Hub is a volunteer organization that works under the umbrella of the Climate Reality Project Canada

Our objective is to bring together Saskatonians who want to respond to the climate crisis at the local level by acting, organizing, and making change locally.

Although we understand that the climate crisis is a global issue that impacts every part of our lives, we also understand that some of the most substantial changes come from within our communities at the ground level.

We intend to lobby our local politicians in council, to establish and enact strict policies and projects as soon as possible to address the climate issues here in our city. By determining the stances of our elected officials, we will be able to put pressure where it counts and demand change effectively.

To accomplish this, we need people who are willing to dedicate even a couple of hours of their time with us. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in learning more about the Hub, our objectives, ideas, and how to get involved..

Of course, we intend to be a dynamic and democratic group, so as time goes on, our objectives, priorities, and goals will change to match the needs and demands of climate change here in our community. In short, we will listen to members’ inputs and ideas and work as a team to make Saskatoon a city that takes climate change seriously and responds accordingly.

Right now, Saskatoon Climate Hub is a seed in the soil but collectively, we can make it grow into something that our friends, family and community can benefit from.

If this interests you or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Saskatoon Climate Hub at saskatoon@climatehub.ca, and we will be more than happy to have a chat over Zoom.
